Hello again fellow crafters!! Today we had our first Stampin Up open house! Well, sort of. We took over hosting the open house for a good friend of ours who had a scheduling conflict but had some RSVPs so we couldn't leave them hangin! It was certainly a learning experience. We use Round Table Pizza in Corona because they have 2 appropriately sized rooms for our little gatherings and they are always very helpful and kind.
Without further rambling, here are some pics of our display with fabulous projects and cards from our fellow demonstrators who stepped up to help put this together without hesitation. We have an amazing group of demos and I am lucky to be a part of it. Thank you so much!

Its a first open house for me and it's really not even mine nor am I doing it alone! Go figure. I'm nervous. I'm trying to do my part and compile projects to display on our board. Luckily, we are part of a group of demonstrators that go above and beyond to help our good friend have a successful, fun and exciting open house! They are wonderful and I am still, almost one year later, so glad to be a part of it. Thanks ladies! And guy! Heehee!
The two projects I'm posting tonight are potentials for the open house. We're voting yays or nays on which ones will be pinned up on the project board. I asked my friends for their votes. We're not actually booting anybody's contributions that have been sent in. I've seen those pics. They're super cool! I just may have gone overboard and should probably thin it out. Yikes.

Off to a tropical island with no cares in the world? Haha if only!
Nope, carried away with card making and a 3D box. A little winter. Some Halloween and a better pic of the box.
This time with the specs.

Well it's a little better. I'll work on it.

Scalloped tag punch
Stars framelits
Dots embosser
Whisper white cardstock
Sticky tape for the sides of the box

From there I sticky taped the tabs and viola! cool little treat box. :-)
Next up...
Winter scenery! I hand cut those amazing hills. They were embossed first with the dots.  I used glue dots to adhere to the silver glitter paper as those seem to work best then trimmed it. The houses were colored with the Coastal Cabana and Cherry Cobbler blendabilities.

Just like that a brutal knock me down foggy brain cold has hit me! So I slept roughly 12 hours. It's still there. Ho hum. Maybe tomorrow.
Anywhoooo.... I still have a couple Halloween projects to share. One is a little gift package that was super easy to make and I love the way it looks. Fill with treats and share them with your kids classmates, coworkers or just people you like.
The second is a smallish size Halloween card with gold. It's fabulous darling, fabulous. The gold, that is. All the little tiny stamps in the Holiday Home stamp set is so darn adorable! The creepy tree, the pumpkin, the face for the pumpkin, the bats.... Well you'll see. The Holiday catalog drops next Friday, August 28th. It won't disappoint! It's got everything. Winter scene, Halloween, Christmas and thanksgiving.
Enough with the chit chat. I have Kleenex to restock and movies to watch. Haha! Who am I kidding?! My stamps and ink and paper are staring me down right now. Ha! Goodnight crafters!

I have a project post coming but not now. It's pertinent I share this from my youngest son (he's 6). He spent a long time working on it this morning and used a good portion of my gold glitter paper (eek! It's ok. I'm ok with this. It's just paper right?) to get his project just right. He made it while I was sleeping so I had no hand in this. Had I helped, I may have convinced him to use a different color paper but hey, he did a stellar job and it's something special for me. He's an amazing kid. I love my boys! Anyway, before I start blubbering on and on, take a gander at his sweet little gift for me!
Can't forget the back side....
Yep he covered the back. He said it had to look like a real dress.
Oh and he always uses orange paper. He made one for his dad on Father's Day on a much grander scale and that was orange too. Ya, he's pretty awesome.

Thats fun to say right?! I got mine today and it's super cute! I scoped it out at convention and I really dug it. So, I did it. I'll admit, I received one last year when Paper Pumpkin was still fairly new and was not impressed. However, they revamped the product and I'm excited to have it! I know that next month will have a Halloween theme. I've already had the joy of creating Halloween fabulousness with the September at..... Yep convention. I went to a Paper Pumpkin Party the first night. Oh and there's a promo code for newbies. HALFOFF2 for 2 months at half off. Essentially, 2 months for $20. It's awesome. :-))

Just mention me as your demonstrator if decide sign up for straight awesomeness in a box. Please.
Convention was a blast. It was my first time going and I was lucky enough to go with a my awesome downline and friend Priscilla. If you should decide to become a demonstrator, you should definitely look into going. It was an amazing experience. We met so many cool people and I took the opportunity to talk to almost everybody. Really. Convention. Starbucks. Hotel. Restaurant. Whatever.
Good times! Oh and the prizes and giveaways and make-n-takes and swaps are ridiculous. We had to make room in our luggage to bring everything back. I'll be back next year. Can't wait! So there's my convention rant. Now you see. On to awesome pics!
www.friendsnstampin.stampinup.net

Did I mention everything you need to do the project is in the box? Sequins, demonsionals, acrylic block (for this and future projects), small stamp pad, stamps and all the paper!
Ho hum. Back to work. It's my Friday! Peace out!
Ha!
Oh and of course thanks for following along! :-))

That's right its bedtime. Work all night. I'm a real live zombie. Don't be jealous.
I had to throw down one more post with another project using the kinda eclectic stamp set. This really is a favorite. Everywhere. For reals.
I used a new technique we learned  at convention this year. Maybe it's not a really new technique but it's new to me and thought it was the shizz nizz (I'm tired. Don't judge) of newest techniques of late.  Using a dauber to color your stamp and stamp in multiple colors. It's mind blowing! And sometimes it's the little things that make us happy. :-)
Hope u like!

I'm doing it! It's 10pm and the nights not over yet! So here is! A little something owl for our teachers! I couldn't resist. Ha!
This card idea came from a similar card made by Stampin Up demonstratorJennifer  Baughman. I loved it!  It seemed absolutely perfect for the start of another school year with our wonderful teachers and for our teacher friends! I wish them luck and a fabulous year as they do a job that I know I couldn't day after day. Honesty here. It really wouldn't be my cup of tea.  I like other peoples kids but everyday and roughly 30 at a time? No thanks.
Until the next project.....

I changed my mind. At around midnight. Maybe 1am. The scalloped circle wasn't working for me. So I swapped it out for the gold. I love it! I'm glad I did that before making 16 of them without being fully happy with how they looked. Whew done. Now on to workshop prepping! After a day at the beach. Which is where I am now. It's beautiful! Back to work later. It's not going anywhere. 😜

Yep! Halloween will be here before you know it! And, no, it's not early.  I finally had the chance to play with my Holiday Home stamp and framelits set. I was lucky enough to win this set at convention. Myself and several hundred other ladies (it seemed to be almost entirely ladies so I made a generalization) on the first day even! Ah.....memories. Until next year.....
Back on topic! Every year at Halloween, I think, I could have done so much more. So this year, in an effort to right this wrong and hold off on Christmas projects, cards and tags. (It's a struggle. I mean, who can resist the snowflakes, silly santas, pretty glitter paper....) I've decided to get a jump on it in August. Starting with cards. I haven't mastered the art of filming so here's a pic and a list of materials.
Card 1
Very vanilla card stock
Tangerine twist card stock
Motley Monsters DSP
Holiday Home stamp set and framelits
Card 2
White and tangerine thick twine is the only additional item. Hope you like!
