Oh Happy Summer Friends!!
Let's be frank here. I love having the kids out for summer. I try to keep them busy, but, man, is it hot out there! Swimming? Sometimes. We don't have a pool. Indoor events (mini golf, mall, movies, etc). Gets expensive. So, needless to say, we do a lot of crafting. Luckily, my youngest son is a happy camper when he can tear through my paper, embellishments and ribbon but he's occupied and happy to be so. He's 8 by the way and most of his crafting projects are making 3D replicas of the Five Nights at Freddie's characters. It's a game, a little creepy, but we have to pick our battles, right? :-))
Back to crafting! 4th of July is right around the corner. Well, close than that. It's peeking right around that corner. I'm not ready! 4th of July is such a laid back relaxing sort of holiday so that is exactly what we'll be doing with some our friends. July brings another exciting activity in our household. Christmas in July!! We decorate one room and have Christmas cartoons on all day. Cartoon Network has a Christmas in July run. We exchange handmade gifts because that's the rule and get a jump on our Christmas projects! My husband is a pro. Stay tuned. Stampin Up will have a holiday catalog out in a little over a month. Oh how I love the holiday catalog!
Anywho, in the meantime, I've been working over some tools and exploring new projects. Have you seen the Fourishing Phrases bundle?! So much pretty in one little package.
Next up.... Weather Together bundle. How sweet and lovely is this set? I was so happy to see these new thinlits in the new catalog!
You believe this but, take a gander. The Shooting Star bundle. It moves!! Cool, right?! I've perused so many different designs on Pinterest its stunning. Thinlits designed to create a moving piece on your card or project. Genius.
Note that these are bundles. The absolute very best way to buy thinlits is in a bundle. You have the matching stamps and it saves you %10! Always get the bundle. I do. I'm just saying.... :-)
Also, you may have noticed, some of the new thinlits and framelits have very intricate designs. While, you can abolutely use these with the magnetic platform and the standard platform (I have with a layer of wax paper), you may want to consider adding the Precision Base Plate to the mix. This base plate will ensure crisp, sharp cuts with the very detailed thinlits.
Now, I'm gearing up to post some photo tutorials and maybe, just maybe, a video. I think I can do it. Maybe. :-)) One of which will be a framed, shadow box type project. So much easy than it looked and I nailed it!! Also on the line up, the Gift Box Punch Board. The bestest way to quickly make a party favors or small gift bags for friends. So stay tuned!
It's summer!! ~~And it's hot out there! So stay cool and craft!
Oh, almost forgot! Only two more day left to get two additional stamp sets when you join Stampin Up as a demonstrator! Sign up on my site and select two free sets! If you've been mulling it over, now is a great time to join, whether as a demonstrator of hobby demonstrator. I'm mostly hobby but I do love to put on workshops on occasion. We chat, eat and make a mess! Good clean fun.
On that note, have a wonderful week and keep cool!
Always,
Sabrina
